Bring On The Holidays!!!

So as we all know holidays can be REALLY difficult while trying to lose or maintain your weight. It can also be hard when you are on a solo diet and don’t want to deprive everyone else from eating the foods that we all love.

Staying away from our favorite foods doesn’t have to be a necessity any more!  The thing that we need to realize is there are healthier similar options out there that taste just as good. Make your holidays healthier and guilt free by following these simple and delicious recipes courtesy of Hungry-girl.com.

If you ate all of these products as they would normally be cooked (keeping to the same portion sizes including 2 slices of turkey as well) you would consume 1,592 calories!  That’s without all of the gravies, butters, and beverages.  By cooking these healthier alternatives you are going to be coming in at about 790 calories, saving yourself and your loved ones AT LEAST 800 calories! Now THAT is something to be thankful for.

About 790 calories according to my calcs, if you ate everyone of those recipes (keeping those exact portion sizes in mind) I even added a 4oz of Turkey breast no skin in. That does not include butter, gravy or drinks. It adds up fast but being conscious of what you are take in really helps. Make a plan before you get to your destination that you are only going to eat a small bit of your favorites. You will be much happier later when you are not feeling all bloated. Remember to stop before you are stuffed….Don’t be a Turkey! LOL

I agree Jaylene the portions suggested are not by any means what I am suggesting. I say follow the hand portion rule which is included above.
