Friends! It has been a long time and I hope and wish you all nothing but the best! I feel I could use a little more Truth in Change in my life so I will make an honest effort to be more present within this wonderful community. A certain reddit moment got me thinking today. Today I saw a video of a 23 year-old man. He is 700 pounds and asking for help. He is at his proverbial breaking point. His “rock bottom”. While watching his video, I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes…”Where there is life, there is hope.” Recently, I saw (On a cancer awareness shirt) the Christopher Reeve quote, “Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.” Anything is possible when you have hope and in my opinion…when there is life there is hope. I reached out to this young man today and hope (no pun intended) that he joins our community.
This leads me to my overall point…goals and weight loss. Time will always keep ticking. Tomorrow will come. Next year will be here. If we string enough good days together by the time tomorrow comes….by the time next year comes….we will be healthier….Do not let a number define you…My Dad says to me all the time…The goal is to be healthier today than we were yesterday…If we live with THAT goal in mind, eventually time will pass, tomorrow will come, next year will be here, and you will be further on your way to a healthier you…
God Bless!
Wally

Wally,
Really happy to see you posting again! As someone who’s had to check into an eating disorder clinic twice in between losing and gaining back almost 500 pounds in the last few years, I know how hard the journey is. Glad that you are back because I never saw that Thatcher quote before–how true! Not sure if you’re on youtube at all, but you can find me there (shed4life). Best of luck going forward, man.
Good to have you back Wally. I too saw Roberts video. Everyone dealing with weight loss at one time or another has needed help. So glad he reached out for it. Being a strong TIC family, I would love to have everyone support him and help him the best we can. http://www.facebook.com/ragingrobert that is his facebook if anyone wants to lend him support or help. Please do not add him if you are looking to make him a side show or make fun of his situation. I’ve seen a lot of that on his video comments and it really makes me sick.
Thanks for the words of encouragement guys! You both Rock! Shed, I will def look you up on YouTube! I wish you both all the best and look forward to hearing from you again!

Greetings from the windmill country Holland
Just saw the show on swedish television and wanted you to know that I think you are great! Keep up the good spirit and blogging! Best wishes to you and your family!
Gday Wally, just seen your show air in Australia and wanted to wish u all the best and see how your going. Love the quote above. I’ll be using this to inspire my gym buddies. Good luck on your journey Wally. I was going to skip the gym in the morning but after seeing your story I will be going and you will help me through my session!
Hey mate, just saw you in Australia on Chris Powells show. I wish you all the best mate. I don’t know if it will help but I have a battle wit cigarettes, and everytime I think about having one I picture my son watching me, and I hate myself for not having one, and I feel incredibly bored for not having one, and doing something else doesn’t take it away. I try to take my mind off it but I can’t concentrate if I don’t have one, frustrating. In time, after forcing my behavior and hating myself for not giving in and having one, eventually it got easier. It may not help you buddy but I wish you the best.
Hi wally, I just watched your show in Ireland and was very touched by your story. I just wanted to wish you the very best and I hope that things are going well for you and your lovely family. Take care and keep up the fight. It’s so worth it.
Hi Wally,
I just watched your show and found this website. I think you’re absolutely right that the overall goal is “to be healthier today than we were yesterday”. Whatever the addiction is, it’s difficult to focus on the big goal as we struggle daily. Thank you for the reminder!
As a Christian I’d like to say that no matter where you are in your life right now, you’re a beautiful child of God. Your story touched my heart and I’m sure it has done the same for many others. ““Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the
mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4
Wally,
I was inspired by your 1st 90 days with Chris Powell but not surprised by your long-term results.
I am very worried about my remaining son who is following in your footsteps.
When you have food addiction is managed, I think you will have a great opportunity with the right bariatric surgeon. Just remember, bariatric surgery is NOT the easy way out. Being a bariatric surgery patients is a LOT of hard work… but gives you the tool that non-surgical options do not… Remember that 35 are able to get rid of medically significant weight long-term. And gastric bypass surgery of today is as life-saving as heart bypass surgery was in the last century. Please inspire the > 40% of the population out there to seek out all available options rather than to die of the disease of obesity.
Hi Wally,
Be Strong and Healthy! Best wishes!
